Where
is your Chapter located?
The NCL
Bluebonnet Chapter is made up of mothers and daughters residing in South
Montgomery County. Our girls attend a variety of local schools and
primarily serve The Woodlands and surrounding areas.
How
do I become a member?
Our
annual membership drive kicks off in September each year for rising 7th
graders. Spots in the upper classes will be made available through
attrition, with class sizes being limited to 30 girls. A mother must be
sponsored by an active member of the chapter and co-sponsored by two
others. Prospective members will be notified of acceptance into the
chapter the following February.
Are
there any other chapters of NCL in my area?
There
are four chapters of NCL in The Woodlands area.
When
is the last year that a girl can join?
The
last opportunity a girl has to join our chapter is as a rising 10th grader.
Is
there a financial obligation associated with membership?
Yes,
members will be expected to pay annual dues and purchase tickets to the
annual Mother Daughter Tea.
How
does the Bluebonnet Chapter serve the community?
The
Bluebonnets serve the Woodlands area in a variety of ways. From
stocking the shelves at the food pantry, to writing cards for troops, to
decorating for Operation Graduation, our volunteers can be found providing a
combined 2,000 hours of help annually to our community. See “Program Information” for a complete
listing of the philanthropies we support.
What
is a “Patroness?” A “Ticktocker?”
“Patroness”
is the name given to the mothers within our organization, and “Ticktockers” are
our daughters.
